About TA Student

This site contains resources primarily aimed at Transactional Analysis trainees. I am myself in Advanced Training and wanted to bring together all the online resources that exist to support my own learning.

I also publish the The Psychotherapy Daily which brings together significant developments in psychotherapy published on Twitter in the past day.

If you have any questions, comments, suggestions, strokes or requests, please email me at:rob@vantol.co.uk or tweet to @talkingtherapy

To defy the costs of producing this site, I am referrer for Amazon.co.uk, how give me a small percentage from their profits for each book you buy - it does not in any way affect the price you pay for the books.

TA Journals

Transactional Analysis Journal (TAJ)

www.itaa-net.org Available as part of membership to the ITAA (International Transactional Analysis Association).

The Transactional Analysis Journal is the official professional journal of the International Transactional Analysis Association. Established in 1970, the TAJ is published quarterly to advance the theory, principles, and practice of transactional analysis. It also offers scholarly articles on related topics, including research into the nature of human change; insightful book reviews; and a yearly author and subject index (October issue).

TAJ Disk

www.tajdisk.co.uk The TAJdisk v3 is a rich resource of TA literature spanning over 37 years of the Transactional Analysis Journal articles (January 1971 - January 2008). (Note that the TAJ Disk does not include the earlier Transactional Analysis Bulletin, which is currently out of print and only available second hard.)

TAJdisk v3 is the latest version and has the following great features:

  • Over 1600 full text articles
  • Subjects cover Counselling, Psychotherapy, Educational and Organisational TA
  • Search by Title, Year, Author or Content
  • Use from the CD or transfer to your hard drive
  • Compatible with Acrobat Reader 6, 7, 8 or 9

Articles included may be viewed on screen and may be printed for personal use only. The breadth of subjects and writing styles included make this a valuable resource for students, practitioners, researchers and trainers within and ouside of TA seeking to deepen their understanding and support their continuing professional development in TA or related disciplines.

International Journal of Transactional Analysis Research

www.ijtar.org Open journal, freely available online.

IJTAR publishes high-quality empirical research using any scientific paradigm across the full range of TA applications. It also promotes research comparing TA and other models and non-TA research that has significant implications for TA theory or practice.

A wide variety of research is welcomed, including but not limited to:

  • Pure as well as applied research. Research that tests existing theoretical models within TA and research that tests the effectiveness of specific interventions and programs are both of interest
  • Outcome- as well as process-oriented research. Randomised, control group research designs and real life process research are both seen as relevant
  • Quantitative and qualitative research methods are both encouraged.
